Sentence expander & paragraph expander
Paste a sentence or paragraph and get it back longer, with real detail: reasons, examples and explanation instead of filler. 2× by default; pick a word count or tone under More options.
Your result appears here. Press Expand text. Nothing you paste is stored on our servers.
How the expander adds length
A good expansion answers the questions a reader would ask next: why?, how?, for example? The expander adds reasons, explanation and examples that follow logically from what you wrote, and keeps your tone. It is told not to invent statistics, quotes or named studies, so any specific evidence you want to include should come from your own sources.
Expansion techniques you can use yourself
- Explain the mechanism: say how or why the claim is true.
- Add an example: one concrete case beats three vague ones.
- Address a counterpoint: “Although…, …” shows you considered the other side.
- State the consequence: what follows if the claim is true?
The footer shows the new word count and how many words were added. Check the running total of a longer document in the word counter. If you went too far, the paraphraser’s Shorten mode cuts text back down.

Frequently asked questions
Will the sentence expander add filler?
It is instructed to add relevant explanation, reasons and examples instead of padding. Still, read the result and cut anything that does not serve your point.
Can it expand a whole paragraph?
Yes. It works as a paragraph expander too, up to 6,000 characters of input.
Does it add facts or sources?
It sticks to general knowledge and does not invent statistics or citations. Add your own evidence where specifics are needed.
Is it free?
Yes, free and without signup.
How do I make a sentence longer without adding fluff?
Add information the reader actually needs: the reason (because…), the method (by…), a concrete example (for instance…), or the consequence (as a result…). Avoid stacking adjectives or padding phrases such as “in order to” and “due to the fact that”.
Can I expand a sentence to a set word count?
Yes. Choose ≈100, ≈200 or ≈400 words instead of a multiplier, then check the exact figure in the result footer or in the word counter.
Can it turn one sentence into a paragraph?
Yes. Set Shape to “Into a paragraph” and the expander uses your sentence as the topic sentence, then adds supporting sentences and a closing line.
Is this the same as a sentence extender or sentence lengthener?
Yes. Sentence extender, sentence lengthener and text expander are other names for the same job: making a sentence longer while keeping its meaning. Paste your line, choose 1.5×, 2× or 3×, and press Expand text.
How do I expand a whole paragraph to meet a word count?
Paste the paragraph, open More options, pick ≈200 or ≈400 words, then check the exact total in the result footer. For an essay, expand one paragraph at a time so each keeps its own point.
What is the difference between a sentence expander and a paraphraser?
A paraphraser keeps roughly the same length and changes the wording. An expander keeps your wording as the core and adds new detail to make it longer.
